Our story, mission, and the team behind youth financial education in Leeds
Founded in 2016, equinox-gain emerged from a simple observation: schools teach algebra but rarely explain a mortgage. Children learn about historical dates but not about interest rates that will shape their futures.
Our founder, after two decades in financial services, noticed that young professionals entering the workforce often lacked basic money management skills. The gap between education and real-world financial needs was stark.
What started as weekend workshops in a community centre has grown into a comprehensive programme serving over a thousand families across Leeds and West Yorkshire. Our curriculum has been refined through eight years of direct feedback from parents, educators, and most importantly, the young people themselves.
We believe every child deserves the knowledge to build a secure financial future, regardless of their family's background or means.
Financial literacy should not be a privilege. We maintain affordable pricing and offer bursaries for families who need support.
